Tribes and tribal organizations

Eligible tribes and tribal organizations include:

• Urban Indian Organizations (under Indian Health Care Improvement Reauthorization and Extension Act)
• Alaska Native Regional Corporations
• Alaska Native Village Corporations
• Tribal organizations (under Indian Self-Determination and Education Assistance Act)
• Tribally designated housing entities (under Native American Housing and Self-Determination Act)
• Federally recognized Indian tribes
• Tribally controlled schools (under the Tribally Controlled Schools Act)
• Tribal transportation self-governance program (TTSGP) participants

Conditions surrounding the use of GSA vehicle programs* include:

• Tribes and tribal organizations under ISDEAA may use such funds to purchase or lease vehicles from GSA.
• Tribes and tribally designated housing entities under NAHASDA may use such funds to purchase vehicles from GSA.
• The ability to lease vehicles is not available.
• Tribally controlled schools under the Tribally Controlled Schools Act may use such funds to purchase or lease vehicles from GSA. Urban Indian Organizations under the Indian Health Care Improvement Act may use such funds to purchase vehicles from GSA.
• The ability to lease vehicles is not available. TTSGP participants may use TTSGP funds to purchase or lease vehicles from GSA.

*The Office of Fleet Management makes eligibility determinations regarding the GSA Fleet Leasing Program.

For example, if you see a Tribal government listed, that generally means all offices and departments that are part of the Tribal government are eligible.
